Director of Sales/Marketing

Job Summary
Develop and execute the annual commercial strategy and business plan to achieve revenue and profitability targets across all segments. Lead the Sales team to hit room nights, banquet, and MICE targets while cultivating key accounts with corporate clients and travel partners. Oversee integrated marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and brand positioning to generate qualified leads and drive demand. Partner with Revenue Management to optimize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR, and manage the departmental budget and forecasts. Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing commercial team while fostering collaboration across Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Build strong relationships with owners, brand representatives, and industry associations to expand market presence and support owner reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading a commercial team to achieve revenue targets
- Experience developing and executing annual commercial strategy and business plans
- Experience identifying new market opportunities, business segments, and revenue streams
- Experience monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and economic conditions
- Experience collaborating with General Managers and Revenue Management teams on pricing, forecasting, and demand strategies
- Experience leading Sales teams to achieve room nights, banquet, catering, corporate, leisure, MICE, wholesale, and group revenue targets
- Experience developing key account strategies and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, event planners, and government agencies
- Experience establishing individual sales targets and monitoring team performance through regular reviews
- Experience participating in sales calls, client presentations, networking events, and industry trade shows
- Experience developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns to strengthen brand awareness and generate qualified business leads
- Experience overseeing digital marketing initiatives including website performance, SEO/SEM, email marketing, paid media, and social media
- Experience ensuring marketing communications align with brand standards and positioning
- Experience working with creative agencies and internal stakeholders to produce promotional campaigns
- Experience partnering with Revenue Management to optimize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total hotel revenue
- Experience driving demand across all hotel outlets including rooms, restaurants, bars, events, and ancillary revenue streams
- Experience reviewing commercial performance and implementing corrective actions
- Experience recruiting, developing, coaching, and retaining a high-performing commercial team
- Experience fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture
- Experience conducting regular performance reviews and creating development plans for team members
- Experience promoting teamwork across Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations, and Operations
- Experience preparing and managing annual Sales & Marketing budgets
- Experience monitoring departmental expenses and ensuring effective return on investment for marketing activities
- Experience producing monthly commercial reports, forecasts, and business reviews
- Experience building strong relationships with owners, brand representatives, tourism boards, corporate partners, and industry associations
- Experience representing hotels at networking events, exhibitions, and commercial functions
- Experience supporting owner reporting and commercial presentations
- Experience ensuring compliance with company policies, brand standards, legal requirements, and data protection regulations
- Experience maintaining accurate commercial records, contracts, and account management documentation
