Job Summary
Direct sales activities in a designated area while communicating a clear strategic sales vision. Attract and retain top sales talent, train and coach team members, and drive gains in revenue, market share, and profit performance. Coordinate sales distribution by establishing territories, quotas, and goals; manage the pipeline, individual contributors, and forecasts. Report on forces shifting tactical budgets and strategic direction, analyze statistics to formulate policy, and review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, and discount rates. Develop sales campaigns, recommend product simplification, and represent the company at industry association meetings. Act as a liaison between sales and other departments, control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements, and prepare periodic sales reports. Requires 10+ years selling software or consulting into the Power and Utility sector with direct coverage of regulated utilities, IPPs, ISOs/RTOs, and energy retailers in North America.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years' experience selling software, consulting, or information services into the Power and Utility sector
- Direct coverage of regulated utilities, IPPs, ISOs/RTOs, municipals, or energy retailers in North America
- Experience with an overlay model sales model
- Ability to set goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational and strategic results
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Must have a humble and genuine curiosity for learning
- Must be energetic and collaborative mixed in with a bit of competitiveness
- Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is committed to prospecting new business
- Must have a proven track record of consistent sales growth and quota obtainment

- Experience analyzing and controlling expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
- Experience assisting other departments within establishment to prepare manuals and technical publications
- Experience preparing periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales
