Job Summary
Director of Rooms oversees the Rooms Division operations, including Guest Services, Front Office, Housekeeping and Security, to optimize occupancy, maximize revenue, and ensure guest satisfaction. Responsible for scheduling, evaluating work, enforcing departmental strategies, monitoring service quality, and coordinating with Sales, Conference Services, Finance, Revenue Management, Engineering, and Food & Beverage. Leads staffing actions, budgeting, performance evaluations, and development of colleagues; acts as Manager on Duty and drives service recovery, safety, and guest recognition initiatives. Ensures compliance with hotel policies, maintains brand standards, and collaborates across departments to improve guest experience and hotel performance.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Guest Services, Security, Housekeeping and Front Office Procedures
- Excellent command of Property Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum of four years previous Guest Services/Front Office Department Head experience in a luxury property
- Post-Secondary School Education with Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management an asset
- Second or third language an asset
- Experience in Unionized work environment an asset
