Job Summary

Oversee the full Retail data lifecycle across source admin systems, from the Retail Datalake to Actuarial Retail Lakehouses and business user destinations. Act as a delegate representing Actuarial executive leadership, advocating for data needs to upstream parties while serving as a liaison between Actuarial, IT, Finance, and Operations. Gather and define business and technical requirements for product enhancements and high-value capabilities aligned with the Retail strategic business plan. Maintain an understanding of overall architecture to drive improvements in scalability, reliability, and usability for business-critical processes. Monitor daily data quality to promote complete and accurate data for reporting, proactively communicating failures and resolutions to stakeholders. Escalate and prioritize data defects and enhancements, performing UAT or validation for issue closure. Enhance control frameworks and implement automated review processes to shape how Retail Actuarial data is governed, validated, and delivered. Work on a hybrid in-office schedule at Hartford, CT, New York, NY, or Charlotte, NC.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in actuarial data, data engineering, data science, or related fields within the insurance industry
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools and ETL concepts
  • Comfortable building complex queries and procedures
  • Experience using AI tools and models in various work applications and contexts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, technical environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python/PySpark) or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Actuarial exams or studies
