Job Summary
Direct all activities of the Restaurant and Hospitality Department and dining room, including planning, directing, controlling, and coaching staff. Implement menu programs meeting nutritional requirements and special diets while assessing resident preferences to ensure high satisfaction. Manage resources, budget, and purchasing decisions; maintain accurate accounting records and develop cost-effective procurement systems. Ensure food preparation, storage, and equipment compliance with health department standards and safe food handling practices. Coach staff to deliver high-quality service, circulate through dining rooms to ascertain resident feedback, and conduct regular meetings on meal planning and safety guidelines. Make recommendations to the Executive Director on hiring, firing, promotions, and discipline; train new and existing staff on policies, sanitation, and dietary guidelines. Maintain a clean kitchen, assign work schedules, order supplies, and monitor inventory. Full-time role in Bridgewater, NJ; requires Serv/Safe certification and minimum two years managing staff experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in food services preparation
- Two years' managing staff
- Current Serv/Safe Certification
- any local, state required food handling/sanitation licenses
