Job Summary
Director of Residential leads operations across multiple affordable housing communities in Minnesota, providing hands-on operational leadership, driving team performance, and ensuring organizational excellence through processes, training, and performance management. Responsibilities include overseeing leasing, resident relations, work orders, and maintenance; removing operational barriers; fostering collaboration and accountability; and guiding site teams to meet high service standards. The role requires 4-5 years of property management experience with affordable housing knowledge (Section 8 preferred), plus leadership and onboarding capabilities. This contract-to-hire position involves managing a portfolio across several communities (Northfield, Rochester, Kasson, Waseca, Jackson, Faribault) with majority time in Northfield/Faribault; salary ranges from $85,000 to $105,000 DOQ; schedule is full-time, Monday-Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in property management
- Experience with Affordable/Rural Development/Section 8 is required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Ability to pass a background check before employment
- Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and work-order/property management software
- Contract to hire arrangement (90 days before conversion)
- Full-time schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
