Job Summary
Residential Director to oversee residential care operations for youth, ensuring program quality, compliance, data-driven outcomes, and cross-functional leadership across Clinical, Case Management, Educational, Medical, and residential services. The role includes on-site monitoring and reporting, supervising upper management, guiding care and treatment, maintaining a respectful workplace, and after-hours on-call duties. The position emphasizes program development, data evaluation for outcomes, and collaboration with staff, families, and stakeholders to sustain a therapeutic environment and strong administration.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned behavioral sciences plus five years’ experience in child welfare administration, child protective services; and, 2 years of experience in program management, or as director position of a licensed childcare program may qualify
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Working knowledge of computer accounting system, spreadsheet, and word processing software (Excel and Word)
- Possess a valid NYS Driver’s License
- Ability to use sound judgment while following agency policies, practices and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner
- Ability to work well in a team setting with people from many cultures and backgrounds
- Must have positive attitude towards families in need
- Ability to adjust to change as the program continues to develop an understanding of, and the ability to work with, persons from diverse cultures
