Job Summary
Director of Residential Life at South County Academy oversees safety, supervision, and professional guidance for residents placed through the Department of Children, Youth and Families. Leads residential programming with the management team, coordinates with departments to foster residents’ sense of purpose, motivation, ownership, and security, and monitors the milieu while implementing Trauma Systems Therapy (TST). Requires collaboration, leadership, strong communication, and ability to work flexible hours including weekends/evenings; travel to community locations; and ability to train in de-escalation techniques. Spanish-speaking capability is preferred and compensated; bilingual/ASL and multilingual skills provide additional compensation. A 4-year degree in a social-work-related field is required, with supervisory experience preferred. FSRI emphasizes diversity and inclusion and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work-related field or equivalent residential/childcare experience
- supervisory experience preferred
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Spanish speaking preferred (compensated)
- Bilingual/ASL skills compensated (additional 6%)
- Multilingual skills compensated (additional 8%)
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Travel to/from community locations and office site
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
- De-escalation training (Handle with Care) when necessary
