Job Summary
Direct the delivery of all resident care while maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines. Supervise and develop department employees, manage care operations, and lead the management team on strategic planning and quality assurance initiatives. Motivate resident care staff and establish effective relationships with residents, medical staff, and families. Prepare resident records, write reports, and respond to correspondence while ensuring safety and quality control standards. Interpret guidelines, react to emergencies, and manage the department's 24-hour responsibility with a Monday through Friday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- BS preferred
- Current/Nursing license in the state of Massachusetts
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience, working with memory care and assisted living residents
- Knowledge/ Understanding of EOEA regulations
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer resident care
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer resident care
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going resident care
- Skill in preparing and maintaining resident records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents, medical staff, and the public
- Ability to maintain quality control standards
- Knowledge of budget process
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly (both verbally and in writing) in English
