Job Summary
Supervise delivery of resident care provided by licensed and nonlicensed nursing personnel while maintaining HRA standards. Provide direct supervision of resident care staff including monitoring job performance, conducting associate performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and providing training. Ensure delivery of nursing services according to professionally recognized practices and monitor care for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Complete nursing schedules for proper coverage to meet resident needs and according to budget guidelines. Assign weekly blood pressure and weights to rotating shifts and monitor staff in administration of medication, including frequent audits of medication sheets. Assist Medication Technicians in medication management, ordering from pharmacy, and maintaining records per policies. Ensure medications are properly stored and carts are cleaned. Observe residents' health status, take actions within scope of practice, and report significant changes or incidents immediately. Conduct pre-admission screening of prospective new residents and perform ongoing assessments of physical and psychosocial needs. Communicate with families regarding resident needs and achievements. Perform daily and monthly safety and infection control checks of the home and grounds. Coordinate monthly staff schedules and arrange replacement staffing when necessary. Share on-call duties as required and participate in community functions. Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries and attend required community meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Current nursing (RN/LPN/LVN) licensure issued by appropriate state licensing agency, if required in the state of hire
- Associates Degree in health care related field
- Current ECC and/or CORE Training certification as required
- Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising and management
- One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software
- Basic typing skills required
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.
- Able to manage revenue and expense budget
- Basic CPR/first aid training
- Knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to assisted living and/or memory care communities
- Able to make independent decisions
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
- Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
