Job Summary
Lead Bethany College's residence life and residential education programs by supervising Resident Directors and Resident Assistants, overseeing staff recruitment and development, and managing housing assignments and records. Oversee hall programming, safety inspections, and emergency response while serving as a hearing officer for student conduct issues. Act as the primary point of contact for housing inquiries and collaborate with campus partners across Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, HR, Facilities, Athletics, and Admissions. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to crises, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This live-on, full-time role supports Bethany's mission to cultivate leaders through faith, learning, and community in a personalized rural setting.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree
- One to three years of professional experience in residence life, housing, or student affairs
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and crises
- Willingness to live on campus and participate in an on-call rotation
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and writing abilities
- Microsoft Office, computer knowledge, and knowledge of office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, administration, and the community-at-large
- Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be very results-oriented
- Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment
- Evenings, weekends, and holiday rotations are required
- The position requires travel to assigned locations around and off-campus
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field
- Two or more years of progressive professional experience in residence life
- Experience with housing systems such as Jenzabar/J1, Slate, or COGNOS
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
