Job Summary
The Director of Recreation/Activities plans, coordinates, and implements a therapeutic recreation/activities program on a regular basis to meet the individual client's needs and interests. Must be registered or eligible for registration as a therapist in one of several fields (art, dance, music, occupational, or recreation therapy) and have at least two years of relevant experience, including a full year in a client activities program within a health-care setting. California driver’s license and CPR certification are required. The role is full-time and offers comprehensive benefits. The position is located at the Kingsburg Healing Center in Kingsburg, California, within Crestwood’s behavioral health services.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as an Occupational therapist, Music therapist, Dance therapist, Art therapist, or Recreation therapist
- Art Therapist: registered or eligible as art therapist with American Art Therapy Association
- Dance Therapist: registered or eligible as dance therapist with American Dance Therapy Association
- Music Therapist: bachelor's degree in music therapy and registered or eligible as music therapist with National Association for Music Therapy
- Occupational Therapist: registered or eligible as occupational therapist with American Occupational Therapy Association
- Must have two (2) years experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one year of which was full-time in a client activities program in a health care setting or Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation who is registered or eligible for registration as a recreation therapist by the California Board of Parks and Recreation Certification or the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
