Job Summary
Director of Quality, Risk and Patient Safety responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the hospital-wide quality and patient safety system, accreditation/regulatory readiness and clinical informatics. Leads the patient safety program, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to reduce patient harm. Oversees hospital-wide quality and safety efforts, performance improvement, and regulatory reporting; ensures continuous survey readiness and education of staff on culture of safety; manages quality metrics, data collection, and collaboration with leaders and physicians. Oversees Stroke and Sepsis programs, value-based purchasing and regulatory programs, and compliance with standards. Provides supervisory responsibilities to quality management staff and develops department operating budgets. Vaccination for COVID-19 required per policy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5 years' experience in risk management, patient safety, or quality (required)
- 10 years experience in healthcare environment
- 5 years analytics and regulatory reporting experience (preferred)
- 1 - 2 years management/supervisory experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and EHR use
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and display data
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to compile complex reports and develop presentations
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage time and tasks
- Ability to lead work teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to build relationships among stakeholders
