Job Summary
Director of Quality Assurance responsible for designing and maintaining comprehensive quality and food safety policies for a dairy manufacturing organization. Leads the QA & Food Safety function, builds and oversees product testing including microbiological testing, conducts internal audits, coordinates product recalls, manages customer/consumer complaint responses, maintains relationships with regulatory bodies, and partners with Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Logistics to embed quality into daily operations and long-term planning. Must lead cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, establish and track QA/FS metrics, ensure compliance with SQF and other requirements, and serve as senior liaison on regulatory matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
- Ten (10) years of experience in dairy manufacturing or related food production
- At least five (5) years in a management role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with regulatory agencies and compliance
- Experience leading internal audits across multiple locations
- Proven ability to lead recalls and consumer complaint processes
- Proficiency with standard business software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentation tools)
