Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day Purchasing department operations at a NYC-based agency serving New Yorkers experiencing homelessness; develop centralized procurement strategy that adds value and efficiency; lead vendor negotiations, contract management, and supplier-diversity initiatives; manage procurement operations, bid reviews, and adherence to NYC policies; implement purchasing cards and supplier punch-out integrations; supervise purchasing staff and ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with Accounts Payable and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Significant related experience with supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or related field
- Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program
- Experience with contract negotiations
- Solid analytical and computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Outstanding team building and leadership skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Preferred: Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or similar certification
- Vaccination preferred but not required
