Job Summary
Oversee the project management function for Principle Services, establishing best-in-class methodologies, developing the PM team, and delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes across client projects. Coach and lead the PM team to build independence, hiring and assigning staff to meet project staffing requirements while balancing workload and utilization metrics. Conduct timely performance evaluations, handle corrective actions, and develop training content covering project management methodology and tools. Serve as the liaison in the business development process, reviewing proposals for scope accuracy and feasibility to protect against risk, while partnering with BD managers to align sales with delivery capabilities. Establish repeatable project processes, monitor compliance with policies, and host lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement. Validate resource planning monthly to support revenue forecasting and ensure accurate budget variances are corrected. Travel up to 25% to project sites and offices, with a focus on maintaining client satisfaction through proactive communication and scope management.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and/or project management
- Demonstrated direct management of multiple construction lifecycle projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
- Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills
- Detailed experience developing and managing budgets
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Comfort operating within a structured management system (e.g., EOS/L10, Planner, project-controls tools)
- Travel of up to 25% to project sites and PS offices
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- Experience constructing new and brownfield transmission, substation, and distribution facilities, battery energy storage systems, generation, or data center type facilities
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Ability to identify and resolve project risks and, above all, risks to the safety of personnel
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong teamwork, problem solving, and training skills while holding others accountable
- Considerable skill in verbal and written communication
- Highly motivated, positive, disciplined, and self directed; operates autonomously and drives outcomes without close oversight
