Job Summary
Senior Director of Product Innovation leads end-to-end product development, formulation/R&D, and regulatory affairs for cosmetics/OTC. Oversees Product Development, Formulation/R&D, and Regulatory Affairs; partners with Marketing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Executive leadership to deliver an innovation pipeline. Responsibilities include owning multi-year innovation strategy and roadmap, mentoring Formulation Science, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs teams, translating consumer insights into concepts, managing budgets and external partnerships, and driving lifecycle management from ideation through launch with rigorous regulatory and claims substantiation. Oversees formulation strategy, regulatory strategy across global markets, and collaboration with Legal and Quality to ensure GMP compliance. Strong emphasis on data-driven decision making, cross-functional leadership, and proven ability to bring products from concept to market.
Required Qualifications
- Masters’ degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Biology, or related field; PhD preferred
- 15–20+ years of experience in product development, formulation, or R&D within beauty, personal care, or related consumer goods
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of global cosmetic and/or OTC regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record of bringing innovative products from concept to market
- Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
