Job Summary
Director of Procurement leading enterprise-level procurement strategy in an agribusiness manufacturing context. Responsible for building and leading a procurement function, reducing total ingredient cost volatility, improving inventory turns and working capital efficiency, expanding strategic supplier partnerships, and providing accurate pricing visibility for executive decision making. This is a leadership and risk-management role reporting to the CEO, with relocation support available for the right candidate. Core focus areas include commodity risk management, strategic sourcing, supplier contract optimization, cross-functional alignment with finance and operations, and developing a high-performance procurement team.
Required Qualifications
- Proven success managing commodity purchasing in volatile markets
- Experience negotiating long-term supplier contracts
- Strong inventory management and forecasting capability
- Deep understanding of logistics: rail, truck, and bulk movement
- Ability to communicate risk clearly to executive leadership
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams
- Industry experience in feed, dairy, grain, fertilizer, or related commodity-driven manufacturing environments is strongly preferred
