Job Summary
Direct, plan, and coordinate the estimating staff to manage multiple pursuits, assign resources, and attend pre-bid meetings as needed. Establish timelines and goals for submittals, ensure cross-disciplinary collaboration on estimates, and review/approve bids, specifications, drawings, and contract negotiations to solve potential issues. Instruct staff on project requirements and owner directives, develop plans to meet stated goals, and manage the continued development of the estimating department. Review and approve staff submissions including proposals and contract negotiations, and prepare post-bid budgets and job setup activity codes for the cost control department. Provide monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators covering estimate types and values.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of estimating construction projects
- Proven management experience, a history of leading, teaching, developing, and mentoring others successfully
- Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills
- Possess an understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings and project specifications
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience
- Proven hands-on experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or Bid2Win or similar industry software
