Job Summary
Direct the Power Engineering practice across Osborn’s Midwest region, leading development of medium/high voltage substation and transmission system projects while building regional capabilities, client relationships, and a high-performing team. Drive strategic growth, business development, and performance oversight; oversee proposals and technical work for power-related projects; mentor engineers, recruit talent, and collaborate with division leaders to ensure quality delivery and client satisfaction. Require extensive experience in electrical power design within a consulting engineering environment, strong knowledge of applicable design codes (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, IEC), proficiency with design/software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easypower, MicroStation, WinGIS, CYME, CGEGS), and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; PE license preferred. Additional responsibilities include maintaining relationships with top power clients, guiding regional strategy, and managing multiple projects concurrently with a focus on delivering value and sustaining Osborn’s growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 15+ years of experience in power design
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easypower, Microstaion, WinGIS, CYME, CGEGS
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, IEC
- Experience with electrical system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash per NFPA 70E)
- Substation design experience (structures, wiring, controls)
- Coordination with contractors and construction practices
- Mentorship and leadership experience
- PE license preferred (not required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
