Job Summary
Oversee all mechanical, structural, and operational aspects of the facility, including plumbing, boilers, heating, and electrical systems. Lead the creation and execution of the Emergency Preparedness Plan while ensuring full compliance with safety, sanitary, and fire codes. Recruit and coach a skilled maintenance team, manage departmental budgets, and set schedules for staff and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality work. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of plant engineering or skilled trades experience
- 3+ years of institutional housekeeping and laundry service management
- A strong track record of safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical maintenance practices
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams
- Clear, confident communication skills and proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Availability to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours
- Expertise in cost estimation, blueprint reading, and writing technical specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school graduate and/or licensed journeyman mechanic preferred
