Job Summary
Director of Philanthropy leading seven-figure annual philanthropic revenue across Napa, Yolo, and Solano counties; oversees a philanthropy team and a portfolio of high-capacity donors and institutional funders; responsible for major gifts, private foundations, planned giving, and donor communications; reports to the Chief Development Officer and develops annual and multi-year revenue plans, donor pipelines, and strategic fundraising programs; requires 10+ years in nonprofit fundraising, experience with major gifts and foundations, and strong leadership; proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office; expects senior-level strategic thinking, relationship-building, and expertise in donor communications and fundraising campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Administration or other relevant field desired, or comparable experience required
- 10+ years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts and foundation fundraising
- Experience with volunteer boards and high net worth donors
- Experience in healthcare, community health, or mission-driven organizations preferred
- CFRE preferred
- Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure gifts
- Experience managing fundraising teams
- Knowledge of donor databases/CRM systems (Salesforce) and moves management
- Ability to develop donor communications programs and revenue plans
- Strong relationship-building with donors, foundations, and community leaders
