Job Summary
Director of People Operations in a remote-first nonprofit, responsible for strengthening CDI’s people systems, culture, and operations at scale. You will lead culture initiatives, onboard and train staff, shape employee experience, support manager effectiveness, and own HR operations and compliance across a multi-state workforce (in partnership with JustWorks). You’ll manage the People Operations Generalist, contribute to talent strategy and complex hiring, and collaborate with leadership to optimize organizational planning, workflows, and systems that enable sustainable growth. Compensation is $120,000-$140,000 annually, and CDI emphasizes a mission-driven culture with remote-first flexibility and robust benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, including at least 3 years in a senior generalist or leadership role
- Experience supporting organizations through significant growth and increasing organizational complexity
- Strong generalist experience across core HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and talent acquisition
- Experience directly managing and developing employees or small teams
