Job Summary
Director of People, fully remote in CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, and WA. Lead the creation and evolution of the People function for Hey Jane, owning talent strategy, compensation, benefits, org design, and employee development. Formalize culture of feedback, performance cycles, leveling, and manager training. Optimize recruiting, oversee multi-state workforce management and employee relations, and ensure compliant, supportive operations across clinical and business teams. Drive employee experience initiatives (onboarding, benefits, PTO, and rituals) and maintain a strong eNPS. You will be supported by a People Operations Associate, General Counsel, and Controller, and will report to the CEO. The role requires a senior operator who can design systems from scratch, grow junior talent into senior roles, and communicate with empathy while advancing reproductive healthcare access.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of People experience
- multi-state workforce experience
- experience supporting licensed or regulated professionals (preferred)
- capable of building a People function from the ground up
- strong people management and mentorship track record
- empathetic, direct, judgment-free communicator
- passionate about reproductive healthcare access
