Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel. Provide guidance and counseling to coordinators, case managers, and Clinical Supervisors to continually improve hospice care services. Assist in managing clinical teams, planning, and the development of organization goals while evaluating performance of clinical staff. Hire, evaluate, and terminate organization personnel, including conducting annual evaluations and developing orientation programs. Oversee patient clinical records, statistics, and reports to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Assist the Executive Director in budget preparation and interpret operational indicators to detect census changes impacting staffing. Develop, implement, and evaluate in-service training programs and quality assurance initiatives to assure safe service delivery. Promote hospice referrals and stay informed about changes in nursing and hospice care fields. Act as the acting Executive Director in the absence of the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a registered nurse in the state, with current licensure to practice professional nursing
- Must meet state and federal requirements for the position
- Must be flexible with working hours
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing preferred
- Equivalent leadership experience may be substituted for a degree
- Must have one (1) year of management experience, hospice or related health care organization preferred
- California specific: Must have a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
- Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community
- Possess excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills
- Possess knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards
