Job Summary
Supervise Patient Access staff in Registration and Financial Clearance areas to maintain efficient inpatient admission and outpatient testing processes. Ensure pre-registration and financial clearance for hospital-based services while assuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Schedule and facilitate mandatory monthly staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education sessions. Stay abreast of current policies and maintain proficiency in all Patient Access technologies while providing excellent service. Handle distressed or agitated patients with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
Desired Qualifications
- Four year degree from baccalaureate program
- Minimum two to three years' experience in a supervisory or management position
- Experience with Windows application systems
- Previous experience in health care setting
- Medical terminology and health insurance background
- Professional demeanor
- Excellent public relations skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to effectively calm patients
- Ability to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients
