Job Summary
The Director of Pastoral Ministries will lead the pastoral ministries of the parish family, focusing on creating, implementing, and evaluating strategies for liturgy, faith formation, and evangelization. Responsibilities include collaborating with the pastor on the mission of the parish, overseeing liturgical celebrations, developing faith formation plans, and ensuring a welcoming environment for diverse populations. Candidates need strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with a willingness to grow in personal faith and support the mission of the Church.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in ministry, theology or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Seven years’ experience in parish pastoral ministry and Church management
- Active member of a parish/faith community and in good standing with the Church
- Ability to facilitate meetings among parishioners, councils, commissions, and the general public
- Demonstrate understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry or similar field strongly preferred
- Experience and competence in standard management software tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams)
- Flexibility and emotional intelligence in working with small and large groups of different stakeholders in consensus decision-making scenarios
- Curiosity to learn and understand the many works of the Church in Western Washington
Additional Requirements
- Must possess vehicle, valid Washington driver’s license and insurance to travel throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle
