Job Summary
Director of Operations at Willing Hands seeks a strategic, hands-on operational leader to oversee warehouse, facilities, fleet, and food recovery logistics, ensuring safe, efficient, and mission-aligned operations. This senior role partners with the Executive Director on long-term planning, budget management, and financial reporting, while supervising multiple departments and staff. Responsibilities include developing SOPs, maintaining food safety and regulatory compliance, overseeing capital planning and IT assets, and supporting organization-wide systems and a safety-focused, equity-driven work culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operations leadership role, with non-profit experience preferred
- Strong operational leadership experience in nonprofit, agricultural, food systems, logistics, or small-business environments
- Experience supervising staff and managing multi-department systems
- Budget development, expense management, and financial reporting experience required; nonprofit finance preferred
- Proficient with computer systems and technology
- Clear communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex operational needs into simple systems and checklists
- Commitment to safety, equity, and mission-driven decision making
