Job Summary
Director of Drayage Operations & Automation leads end-to-end drayage operations across major port and rail networks, driving on-time pickup and delivery while minimizing demurrage/detention. Builds AI-powered automated workflows, oversees chassis management, appointment coordination, dispatch, and exception resolution, and develops dashboards, alerts, and KPIs. Leads and develops dispatch, operations, and support teams, manages customer escalations, and owns operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of progressive drayage, intermodal, or transportation operations leadership experience
- Strong expertise in LA/LB port operations, terminal systems, chassis pools, and appointment management
- Hands-on experience with automation, workflow optimization, AI tools, or transportation technology platforms
- Proven experience leading multi-team transportation operations
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
