Job Summary
Director of Operations overseeing two packaging-manufacturing facilities in the plastics/paper space. Responsible for safety, regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA), workforce development, annual plant budgeting, and achieving productivity, cost and quality objectives. Leads continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, lean manufacturing), coordinates production scheduling, manages overtime and inventory, and drives capital projects. Reports on performance metrics, builds employee relationships, partners with HR on policies, and leverages ERP/MRP systems for scheduling and distribution. Requires leadership across product development, manufacturing operations, quality control, and delivery, with extensive on-site presence and emphasis on safety, environmental compliance, and overall operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Engineering or Technology required
- Manufacturing of Packaging materials experience with plastics or paper required
- 7 – 10 years Progressive Experience in manufacturing leadership positions
- Extrusion/Thermoforming experience preferred, particularly with PET, PPO and EPS
- Experience in leading quality systems improvement, metrics development and continuous improvement
