Job Summary
Direct, supervise, and schedule all aspects of Operations, including Engineering/Maintenance, Building, Grounds, Cleaning, IT, and Stagehands. Coordinate activities with departments and contractors to ensure facility readiness and smooth event operations. Implement facility rules, update policies, and communicate directives clearly. Oversee Physical Plant, theatrical lighting, sound, and audio-visual equipment maintenance while ensuring safe operations. Assist in preparing the Annual Operating Budget and recommend capital budgets for long-range repairs. Authorize equipment requisitions, conduct yearly inventories, and ensure compliance with all laws, codes, and safety procedures. Develop training programs for Fire/Life Safety and OSHA procedures. Investigate operational problems, resolve complaints, and conduct staff meetings. Negotiate with vendors, unions, and contractors; review contracts for compliance. Act as Manager on Duty during load-ins, performances, and load-outs. Work at all Legends Global facilities in Wichita.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from technical college with major in Management or Maintenance Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Supervising or Managing in a similar facility
- Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, hydronic heating and cooling systems, theatrical performance systems
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively supervise staff
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to learn Maintenance Manager Software program
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
- Position requires the ability to work at all Legends Global facilities in Wichita
- Required to walk extensively
- Occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Work inside and outside of the building
- Some exposure to adverse conditions
