Job Summary
Director of Operations/General Manager responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a fresh produce distribution center in South New Jersey. Directly coordinates inventory, production, food safety, QA/QC, 3PL, sales, and shipping to ensure accurate, on-time, high-quality order fulfillment and optimal stock levels. Focus on monitoring inventory and demand to prevent stockouts/overstock, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process improvements. Maintains accountability across departments with clear communication and follow-through, and supports scaling operations as volume grows. On-site full-time role in New Jersey, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional Saturdays. Salary range $140,000–$170,000, with total compensation depending on skills and experience. Reports to CEO.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience managing fresh produce operations (minimum 7 years of experience, preferably 10+).
- Strong understanding of inventory management and order fulfillment workflows.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, perishable goods environment.
