Director of Operations Finance

Job Summary
Serve as the primary financial advisor to the COO and Operations executives, translating complex operational performance into actionable financial strategies. Drive improvements in manufacturing and supply chain costs, working capital, and capital expenditure while leading financial planning, cost accounting, and inventory management. Partner with Corporate FP&A to own annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning for all manufacturing plants. Develop capital allocation frameworks and ROI analyses for multi-million-dollar manufacturing expansions, overseeing cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory valuation processes. Maintain financial oversight over fixed assets and manufacturing cost reduction initiatives, ensuring an accurate accounting close, robust internal controls, and SOX 404 compliance. Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing operations finance team, fostering seamless collaboration between plant-level finance, corporate FP&A, and core accounting teams. This role reports to the CFO and directly supports the Chief Operating Officer to transform the company from technology to mass production at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience
- Heavy emphasis on manufacturing, supply chain, or heavy industrial environments
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of cost accounting
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of inventory valuation
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of CapEx management
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of corporate budgeting/forecasting
- Proven track record of building and scaling finance teams
- Proven track record of influencing C-suite and Operations executives
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Credentials: MBA (Finance concentration) and/or CPA certification
- Prior experience navigating the unique challenges of a high-growth manufacturing organization
- Prior experience navigating the unique challenges of a hardware startup scaling to mass production
- Early career foundation in Big 4 audit or public accounting
- Strong, practical knowledge of SOX 404 compliance
- Strong, practical knowledge of internal controls implementation
