Director of Operations – Audio Visual & Technology Integration

Job Summary
Own day-to-day installation operations by scheduling and coordinating installers across multiple active projects to maximize utilization and billable time. Manage project-level P&L, labor costs, and profitability while identifying inefficiencies to improve margins and execution. Lead the installer workforce through recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and terminations, establishing accountability around attendance, quality, and project performance. Ensure the field team has necessary equipment, materials, and resources to complete jobs successfully while troubleshooting scheduling and execution issues quickly. Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, clients, and contractors to monitor progress and address delays or cost overruns proactively.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, field operations, installation management, or a related leadership role
- Proven experience managing field technicians, installers, or other hands-on teams
- Experience with scheduling, workforce utilization, project budgets, and P&L management
- Strong understanding of project-based operations and labor profitability
- Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, develop, and hold employees accountable
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to balance financial performance with quality and customer service
- High level of professionalism, humility, and emotional intelligence
- A team-first personality with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment where priorities can change quickly
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the audio/visual, systems integration, low-voltage, electrical, security, telecommunications, or similar industry strongly preferred
- AV industry experience is highly preferred
- Experience working in a smaller or entrepreneurial company is strongly preferred
