Job Summary
Direct the school district’s child nutrition program as Director of Nutrition Services, overseeing daily production, menu adherence, HACCP compliance, and operations across multiple kitchens; manage the kitchen team, ensure food quality and safety, maintain records and reports (production, menus, labor, costs, and HACCP logs), coordinate meal transportation to satellite buildings, and uphold Opaa! policies and USDA requirements. Lead staff through weekly meetings, daily huddles, and monthly leadership sessions; hire, onboard, train, and manage direct reports; drive client relationships with district leadership, and oversee budgeting, inventory, procurement, and administrative tasks. Foster a positive, compliant, service-oriented environment aligned with Opaa! core values and standards; ensure participation metrics, safety, health inspections, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is minimally required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant food service experience, or one year with an associate’s degree.
- Minimum 1 year in customer service/hospitality role.
- Working knowledge of kitchen functions and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to adjust recipes and understand units of measure.
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience (preferred).
