Job Summary
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing care programs consistent with federal, state, and local regulations. Direct daily department operations, recruit and manage staff through hiring, counseling, and performance appraisals, while ensuring competency and policy compliance. Collaborate with medical directors to assure quality care, review grievances and accident reports, and coordinate resident admissions and care plans. Maintain ongoing quality assurance, participate in facility surveys, and develop staff orientation and education programs. Assist in budget preparation and adjustments. Required Qualifications
- diploma or nursing degree (RN) from an accredited school, college, or university
- current, unencumbered active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in PA
- two or more years of experience as a supervisor in a long-term care facility
- ability to tactfully deal with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- leadership and supervisory experience and abilities
- willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise personnel

- DON experience in a nursing home environment
