Job Summary
Director of Nursing at Primrose Retirement Communities in Lancaster, OH to lead direct care staff in delivering nursing services, ensuring compassionate quality care and resident well-being. Responsibilities include recruitment and hiring of nursing personnel, timely completion of resident assessments and service plans, evaluating residents' clinical needs, coordinating nursing services with other departments, marketing the community through events, maintaining regulatory compliance, communicating policies to staff, and evaluating disciplinary actions. Requirements include active nursing licensure in the state, CPR and First Aid certification, knowledge of state nursing laws for assisted living, continuing education hours, and leadership, with experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred. Proficiency in basic computer software (Outlook/Word) and ability to work daytime hours with flexible call coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a current, active, and non-restricted nursing license in the state the community is located in
- Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification per state regulations
- Knowledge of current state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in an assisted living setting
- Meet annual continuing education hours required for nursing license, if applicable
- Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership skills in principles of team building, motivating others, and conflict management/resolution
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred
- Basic knowledge of computer software and programs, minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Able to work primarily day hours, willingness to work varying hours as needed
- Able to share with other nurses, “call” time regarding resident care needs
