Director of Nursing – Long-Term Care

Develop, manage, and monitor the annual nursing department budget while recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating nursing staff. Ensure appropriate staffing levels, promote a safe collaborative environment, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Participate in state and federal nursing home surveys, prepare Plans of Correction, and lead Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs. Oversee electronic medical records, including documentation, reports, and dashboards, while staying current with regulatory and clinical practice changes. Ensure individualized resident care plans are developed, implemented, and updated, and that residents are protected from abuse and neglect. Maintain thorough documentation, notify physicians of condition changes, and foster effective communication between nursing and other departments.
