Director of Nursing (DON)

Lead and oversee all nursing operations for the Health Center and residential apartments, ensuring delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and LCS standards. Direct staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure appropriate 24-hour nursing coverage, and recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop nursing team members. Oversee employee orientation, annual performance evaluations, and ongoing education programs. Coordinate resident care with physicians, therapists, hospice, home health, private duty providers, and other healthcare partners. Supervise resident assessments, care planning, restorative nursing programs, admissions, and clinical outcomes. Oversee Medicare documentation, MDS completion, and regulatory reporting requirements. Maintain nursing licensure compliance and ensure adherence to corporate policies, HIPAA, and quality standards. Build strong relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams through visible, hands-on leadership. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and exceptional resident care. Serve as the clinical leader for the community and act on behalf of the Administrator when needed.
