Job Summary
Director of Nursing leads RN/LPN teams to support medical and healthcare needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a regional scope, develops and updates nursing care plans with an interdisciplinary team, ensures adherence to nursing protocols and regulations, trains staff, conducts performance management and internal reviews, manages treatment procedures ordered by physicians, monitors health conditions, analyzes medication errors, maintains infection control, and remains available for after-hours on-call triage. The role emphasizes leadership, program development, compliance with state and board of nursing standards, collaboration with community and families, and use of electronic health records (Therap preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
- Valid RN license allowing you to practice in assigned state
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Minimum two years of experience as a registered nurse
- Complete all state and agency required training
- Remain abreast of all board of nursing regulations and industry standards
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards relevant to supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience working with electronic health record systems; Therap preferred
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
