Job Summary

Lead nursing services across the Emergency Department, Acute Care, Swing Bed Program, and Long-Term Care by establishing standards consistent with the California Nursing Practice Act and CMS requirements. Direct staffing plans, workforce recruitment, and retention while overseeing orientation, competency assessments, and continuing education programs. Promote patient safety through high reliability initiatives and lead quality improvement efforts with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to monitor clinical performance measures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations, including survey readiness for CMS, CDPH, and OSHA, while managing nursing budgets and resource allocation. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and serve in Incident Command roles during disasters or mass casualty incidents.

Required Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing, or ability to obtain California licensure prior to start date
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of three years' experience in nursing management as a director or assistant director in acute or SNF hospital setting with completion of some nursing administrative duties
  • Possession of a Professional CPR, ACLS and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain within six months of hire)

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters in a related field preferred
  • Experience in critical access hospital in a senior management position preferred
