Director of Nursing

Job Summary
Oversee hiring, terminating, and development of nursing staff while monitoring job performance and recommending promotions or terminations. Direct staff rotations to meet service demands, develop service objectives and policies, and continuously monitor federal and state guidelines to revise departmental procedures. Ensure compliance with care plans, elder assessments, and infection control policies, while collaborating with contract therapy companies to enhance quality of care. Assist with the preparation of the annual departmental budget and maintain operating budgets for personnel and medical equipment. Manage nursing practices, prioritize work assignments based on resident acuity, and provide daily reports on resident care needs and significant condition changes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse for the state in which the facility is located
- Current Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care
- Strong understanding of skilled nursing standards of care
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement rules
- Very high level of professionalism

Desired Qualifications
- Three years of experience in skilled nursing and/or assisted living community
- Significant critical care and operations management experience
