Job Summary
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing services in accordance with state and federal regulations. Ensure delivery of compassionate quality care while monitoring resident treatment for dignity and respect. Lead daily or weekly team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, and personnel needs. Participate in government surveys, investigate allegations of abuse or neglect, and collaborate with physicians to ensure medical compliance. Develop and maintain nursing policies, direct staff supervision and performance evaluations, and assist with hiring and recruitment. Mentor a close-knit team of 39 skilled nursing beds and 71 assisted living areas.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a long term care facility, hospital, or other related health care facility
- Experience in geriatric and rehabilitative nursing practices
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Demonstrates success in staff supervision and team management
- Proficient with commonly used computer programs (Outlook, Microsoft Teams) and electronic charting system (PointClickCare)
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available for weekend shifts
