Job Summary
Director of Nursing and Health Services responsible for leading and integrating medical services across residential and outpatient programs, aligning with state nursing regulations and agency standards. Oversees medical policies (including infectious disease, withdrawal management, MAT), participates in quality improvement, supports on-call rotations, and supervises medical personnel (LVN, RN, NP, PA, MA). Collaborates with Medical Director and leadership to expand services, manage contracts/budgets, pursue external funding, and drive trauma-informed, whole-person care across the organization. Position offers hybrid work within Santa Cruz County and includes on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing (RN).
- Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program.
- Unencumbered and unrestricted license to practice as an RN or FNP within the state of California.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with vulnerable health populations.
- 3+ years of experience directly supervising staff.
- Proficient computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, prioritization and triage.
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and addressing challenges and engaging with staff and community partners.
- Demonstrate skills in effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of diverse groups of people.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record clearance.
- Health examination including a TB screening within specified prior to employment and annually thereafter.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
