Job Summary
Director of NJ Academic Programming—STEM responsible for leading science and math instruction across the Camden network, coaching teachers and assistant principals, and translating academic priorities into scalable instructional guidance. Drives data-based decisions, aligns curriculum with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS), and advances interdisciplinary learning by connecting mathematics and science. Leads professional development and instructional coaching to strengthen standards-based practices, supports multilingual learners and students with IEPs, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve Tier 1 instruction and systemic equity in science and math education across historically under-resourced communities. The role requires collaboration with school leaders, teachers, and multiple campuses, and includes travel between network campuses to implement coaching and implementation support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Teacher and/or School Administrator certified in New Jersey
- Five (5)+ years of successful teaching experience in science and/or mathematics
- Prior instructional coaching or leadership experience required
- Ability to travel between network campuses; in-person facilitation of trainings; reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Teaching certification in New Jersey
- School administrator certification in New Jersey
- Five+ years of teaching experience in science and/or mathematics
- Experience coaching teachers and school leaders
- Experience with data analysis and instructional leadership
- Experience working with multilingual learners and students with IEPs
- Willingness to travel between network campuses
- Strong analytical writing skills
- Ability to design and promote interdisciplinary learning between math and science
