Job Summary
Director of Operations leading production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse functions in a Western Wisconsin millwork/manufacturing setting. Responsible for establishing and tracking KPIs to improve efficiency, throughput, and capacity; driving continuous improvement to reduce scrap and rework; aligning capacity with demand alongside sales and production control; developing and implementing quality goals and reporting systems; ensuring OSHA/EPA/DNR regulatory compliance; evaluating capital equipment needs with ROI-driven recommendations; overseeing facility operations and equipment maintenance; and mentoring teams to cultivate accountability and strong communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Millwork or Building Materials)
- 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing production or operations teams
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and operational metrics
- Experience with capital planning, equipment evaluation, and process optimization
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment
