Job Summary
Director of Mediation and EEO oversees the mediation program and serves as the agency's Equal Employment Opportunity officer, handling investigations, accommodations requests, and EEO compliance; manages a growing mediation office, hires and supervises staff, develops policies and procedures, reports outcomes, and coordinates with external partners to provide pro bono mediation; performs neutral investigations, trains staff on EEO matters, and ensures compliance with city, state, and federal EEO laws and policies; engages in education and outreach, and handles a moderate docket of cases for the NYC Commission.
Required Qualifications
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- four years of relevant legal experience after bar admission, including eighteen months in supervision of other attorneys, in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity
- must remain a member of the NYS Bar for duration of employment
