Job Summary
Conduct internal and external audits for MDS completion, PDPM accuracy, care plans, Quality Measures, and survey readiness across assigned facilities. Provide leadership, education, and operational guidance to ensure accurate MDS assessments, CAAs, and care plan documentation while optimizing reimbursement integrity. Partner with nursing, therapy, and medical records teams to improve Quality Measures, Case Mix Index performance, and compliance with CMS and state regulations. Mentor MDS Coordinators and support facility transitions, staffing shortages, and regulatory reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of three (3) years of MDS Coordinator experience in skilled nursing facilities
- Strong knowledge of the RAI Manual
- Strong knowledge of Medicare PPS
- Strong knowledge of PDPM reimbursement
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid reimbursement systems
- Strong knowledge of CMI
- Strong knowledge of Quality Measures
- Strong knowledge of care planning
- Strong knowledge of CMS/state regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting clinical reimbursement audits
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Strong follow-up skills
- Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to assist during emergency preparedness activities

- RAC-CT Certification
- Multi-facility oversight experience
- Experience with PointClickCare
- Experience with reimbursement analytics platforms
