Director of Materials Management

Formulate purchasing policy and administer the program covering inventory, storerooms, receiving, and surplus disposal. Review purchase orders within budget limits and assist departments with supply control and contract compliance. Advise physicians and managers on quantity, quality, availability, and cost to ensure maximum efficiency. Oversee the Hospital Automated Supply Chain cabinets, negotiate purchase agreements with distributors, and interview sales representatives. Analyze monthly expenses, develop annual budgets, and set up supply charges based on the Formulary. Provide reports to the CFO on supply utilization and capital expenditure management. Coordinate usage trend studies and maintain supplies during emergency situations while ensuring safe practices for hazardous substances. Develop department staff through training, coaching, and evaluations.
