Job Summary
Director of Marketing and Communications at Fellowship Christian School responsible for guiding the strategy for the Brand and all external communications, website, public relations, messages and collateral to articulate the mission. Will train, supervise, and evaluate marketing department staff and collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer on strategic initiatives. Core focus includes driving admissions and enrollment strategy, managing current family communication, and ensuring brand integrity across print and digital assets; developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy across digital, social, and traditional channels; overseeing website and mobile app content; leading communications plans and public relations efforts; and providing training and guidance to staff on marketing, content management, and public relations.
Required Qualifications
- Five to seven years’ experience in a similar capacity preferably within academic environment, with previous management experience and covering such areas such as website content, public relations pieces and donor communications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Must possess strong technological skills
- Excellent storyteller and writer
- Highly collaborative style, experience developing and implementing communication strategies
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
- Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to “manage by influence”
- Must be able to work intuitively and independently on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraints
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills required to successfully interact with diverse staff, faculty, students and other constituents of the School
- Must work well with and respect the services of outside vendors and independent contractors
- Must be detail-oriented, creative, flexible and motivated by challenges
- Must have the ability to work in a school environment by successfully passing the school mandated background check process
- Possess a valid state driver’s license
- Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, and industry specific design software; knowledge of Finalsite, RenWeb/FACTS or Veracross a plus
- Positive appearance, attitude and presentation with a strict sense of confidentiality
- Work effectively with colleagues by practicing good attendance and punctuality, respect for deadlines, collaborative problem solving and honest communication
- Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality is required and as a condition of employment
